In accordance with the new EU Data Protection laws in effect from May 2018, BR Remote has outlined below how we use and store your data.
We take Data Protection and client confidentiality very seriously at BR Remote and as such have strict procedures in place to comply with legislation.
Unless required by law, we hold only ‘Personal Data’ – That is; name, address, telephone numbers.
We are required by law to hold certain ‘Sensitive Data’. for instance; invoices are required to be kept for 7 years.
We hold ‘Personal Data’ for the purposes of;
- Purchasing & Ordering
- Maintaining Warranties
- Contacting customers
- Contacting suppliers
- Contacting those who have shown a specific interest in our products and services.
- We do not attach any tracking, analysis or statistics to any ‘Personal Data’ or any other discriminatory information.
‘Personal Data’ is stored on;
- Our Server – including e-mails
- Copies of printed invoices
- Copies of printed orders
- Paper copies of Employees data
All data, both paper and electronic, is stored in the office, on our server (located in the office) or in the Microsoft secure cloud. Our accountants also hold copies of all financial data.
The Office is manned by authorised personnel during business hours. Out of business hours, it is kept locked beyond both exterior and interior locked doors.
All staff members and business partners are bound by contract to abide by all data protection legislation and have no right of access to your details other than for approved work on behalf of BR Remote.
We do not sell or make ‘Personal Data’ available to 3rd parties. We do not send spam. From time to time we will send a marketing email with new services/products, special offers or discounts that may be of interest to you.
We will keep the information that we hold for you for 10 years after we have had no contact with you.
You are entitled to see the data we hold. Simply send a request via e-mail from the address we hold on file. We will contact you to confirm your identity and then make your data available to view.
Employees and persons with whom we have done business, can have their data removed only from our mailing list. The easiest way to do this is to click ‘unsubscribe’ when you receive anything you don’t want.
We will still pass on details if we are asked by an individual to recommend a person or service for a specific requirement. It is normal business practice to recommend those whom we know. Let us know if you do not want your details passed on in this way.
